Can I buy direct from Benjamin Plumbing?
Yes! Benjamin Plumbing is a plumbing contractor with a complete retail showroom.

If I purchase from Benjamin Plumbing's showroom, does Benjamin Plumbing have to install the product?
No. You may install the product yourself, or have another contractor install it. However, if product is not installed by Benjamin Plumbing, even though the manufacturer's warranty applies, Benjamin Plumbing's year warranty does not apply.

Does my plumbing contractor buy from Benjamin Plumbing?
No. Benjamin Plumbing is a plumbing contractor. All plumbing contractors purchase their material through a plumbing distributor.

If I find what I like in Benjamin Plumbing's Showroom, can Benjamin Plumbing install it for me?
Absolutely!

How soon can it be installed?
If we do not have the product in stock in our warehouse, Benjamin Plumbing will order the product for you and call you as soon as it is received in our warehouse to schedule an installation date.

Does Benjamin Plumbing accept credit cards?
We accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

Will Benjamin Plumbing install a product I bought somewhere else?
It is our policy to install only products we provide. We stand behind the manufacturers' warranties, as well as warranty our labor. If there is a problem with product we provide, we correct it to your satisfaction. We do not install products bought elsewhere because:

  • We cannot control the quality of products furnished by others, and therefore cannot warranty them. When you purchase a product from Benjamin Plumbing, we stand behind it. If a faucet leaks, and Benjamin Plumbing provided and installed the faucet, we repair or replace it at no additional charge during the warranty period. Products may look the same, but be very different in quality. Benjamin Plumbing sells only products we know our customers can count on.
  • Not all products sold by retailers meet the Wisconsin Plumbing Code. We cannot install products that do not meet the code.
  • We cannot control whether a product has been supplied with all necessary parts. If, for example, a faucet was missing a part, we could not complete the installation in one trip and would have to locate the part and charge the customer for a second trip.
  • Not all products have replacement parts which can be obtained quickly.

I want to remodel my bathroom; how do I get started?
Come into our showroom and select your products. Our showroom personnel work together with our remodeling estimators. An estimator will call you to schedule an appointment to inspect your bathroom and discuss your remodeling project with you. He will then prepare a proposal and mail it to you for your approval.

Is there an extra charge to have the estimator come to my home?
No. This is a service Benjamin Plumbing provides to all our customers.

I have seen a Benjamin Plumbing truck in my neighborhood several times. Am I seeing the same truck all the time?
No. We have approximately 35 trucks in our fleet.

Why so many? Is there that much residential work going on in the Madison area?
Benjamin Plumbing does commercial as well as residential plumbing. On service calls, you'll see our well-stocked radio dispatched service trucks.

Who does the carpentry work needed for my bathroom remodeling project?
If you have a contractor you have worked with in the past and wish to use again, we will work with that contractor on your project. We also work with several remodeling contractors on a regular basis and will be happy to recommend one to you.

My builder said Benjamin Plumbing is my plumbing contractor for my new home. Should I just stop in or should I call for an appointment?
If you are building a new home, we suggest you make an appointment with our showroom personnel. We will schedule a special time for you to allow us to give you the personal attention you need.

Is Benjamin Plumbing only a showroom? What if I just want a leaky faucet fixed?
Benjamin Plumbing has a complete Service Department. When you call our Service Department, our personnel will ask questions to determine the nature of the problem and schedule an appointment.

Does Benjamin Plumbing stick to appointment times, or will I have to sit at home all day and wait for the plumber?
All of our trucks are radio equipped and all our plumbers carry pagers. If our scheduled plumber is going to be early or late, we contact our customers to inform them.

If my repair job only takes 20 minutes to complete, will I be charged a flat one hour rate?
No. Benjamin Plumbing charges a trip charge and a minimum 30 minute labor charge. After the first 30 minutes, labor is billed in fifteen-minute increments.

If I'm putting in a new whirlpool or luxury shower, will my current hot water heater be large enough to handle the capacity?
That depends. There are many factors that affect the size of water heater you need, including type of fixture, size of your plumbing line, and others. Benjamin Plumbing can make a recommendation and install a new Ruud PROFESSIONAL water heater that fits your needs.

I have a septic system. I've been told I can't have a disposer. Is this true?
No it is not true. In-Sink-Erator has just introduced Septic Disposer. It's the first food waste disposer designed for any size septic system and features their exclusive Bio-Charge enzyme treatment.
